Construction is officially underway for Vibora Liverpool Waters, which is set to become the United Kingdom’s first-ever floating padel club. Located at the Princes Dock in Liverpool, this ambitious project aims to blend high-energy sport with a premium social and wellness experience.
The Vision for Vibora Liverpool Waters
Founded by padel construction expert Gareth Evans alongside entrepreneurs Lauren Fenton, Nicholas Sherratt, and Clare Hughes, the project has been in development for two and a half years. The site is being built in collaboration with waterside regeneration specialists Peel Waters to create a unique destination that moves beyond the traditional club model. The build is expected to last approximately four weeks, with an anticipated opening in mid-September 2024.
The development is designed as a multi-faceted hub for the local community. The founders have outlined the following key components that will define the Vibora experience:
- Floating Padel Courts: The facility will launch with two floating courts, with a third court scheduled to be added during phase two of the development later this year.
- Clubhouse Hospitality: A central clubhouse will serve as a social hub, offering a selection of wines, beers, cocktails, and soft drinks for players to enjoy before or after their matches.
- Networking and Social Space: The clubhouse is designed to be a flexible environment where visitors can socialize, network, or watch the action on the courts from a waterfront vantage point.
- Community and Wellness Programming: Beyond competitive play, the club will host a variety of wellness and community-focused events to cater to local residents, businesses, and visitors.
- Retail and Lifestyle Apparel: The brand plans to extend its reach by launching a lifestyle clothing collection that reflects the culture and community surrounding the sport of padel.
The project follows the success of other unique waterfront attractions at Princes Dock, such as the Wyld Sauna, which has demonstrated a strong local appetite for innovative leisure experiences. By integrating sport, business, and social connection, the founders hope to establish Vibora as a landmark destination that matches the rapid global growth of padel with a distinctively ambitious and exciting atmosphere.
