The CUPRA FIP Tour has officially expanded its global footprint to Pakistan, marking a historic milestone with the inaugural FIP Bronze Pakistan I tournament hosted in Karachi. This event highlights the rapid growth of the sport in the region, which is now one of 17 new nations to join the circuit in 2026, supported by a local base of 50,000 amateur players.
Tournament Favorites and Key Contenders
Following the successful conclusion of the FIP Promises Karachi III youth event last week, the professional circuit takes center stage with a highly competitive field. The main draw is scheduled to run from Friday, October 2, through Sunday, October 4, featuring the following top-tier talent:
- Nico Zurita and Diego Arredondo: Serving as the men's top seeds, Zurita enters with significant momentum after securing three titles this year in Istanbul, Selangor, and Helsingborg. His partner, Arredondo, is aiming for his first 2026 victory following a runner-up finish in Jakarta.
- Adrian Ronco and Julian Lacamoire: These challengers arrive in Karachi with high confidence after clinching a victory at the FIP Bronze tournament in Dubai just last weekend.
- Pablo Pastor and Agustin Reca: A formidable pair to watch as they compete among the leading contenders in the men’s draw.
- Wagdy Raslan and Aly Zaghloul: Another pair identified as a significant threat to the top seeds in the men's competition.
- Ainize Santamaria and Gimena Sol Perez: The top-seeded women's team, with Santamaria boasting a strong 2026 record that includes titles in both Dakar and Joinville.
- Mafalda Marques and Patricia Ribeiro: This Portuguese duo stands as the primary challengers to the top-seeded women's pair.
- Nika Sluzhiteleva and Anastasiia Ryzhova: A pair identified by organizers as ones to watch closely throughout the tournament.
- Vilena Petrova and Vlada Kutuzova: Expected to play a prominent role and compete for the title as the tournament progresses toward Sunday's semi-finals and final.
This event serves as a testament to the International Padel Federation’s ongoing efforts to globalize the sport, bringing professional-level competition to emerging markets like Pakistan.
