About Friends of the Weiser River Trail
Friends of the Weiser River Trail is a private, nonprofit organization that has converted an old railroad grade into an 84-mile long trail for public recreation, stretching from Weiser to Rubion near New Meadows, Idaho. The unpaved trail features many miles of riparian habitat, 1,400 acres of wildlife habitat, and provides access to 16,000 acres of BLM and State of Idaho lands. The trail setting varies from rolling hills and open canyons in the southern part to forested areas in the northern part, with a rock/gravel base. The organization's mission is to preserve the integrity of the corridor, develop and maintain the trail, and protect the natural habitats within it.
