Tarragona is set to host the prestigious Cupra FIP Finals from December 3 to 6, 2026, marking the grand conclusion of the International Padel Federation season. The event will take place at the Palau d’Esports Catalunya, bringing together the sport's elite for four days of high-stakes competition.
Tournament Structure and Qualification
The competition will feature a total of 32 pairs—16 men’s and 16 women’s—who have earned their spots based on their standing in the FIP Rankings. To ensure the highest level of play, the tournament organizers have established specific criteria for entry:
- FIP Ranking Qualification: The primary method of entry is based on a pair's position within the official FIP Ranking.
- FIP Platinum Priority: Pairs that secured a victory at a FIP Platinum tournament throughout the season are granted priority entry, provided the winning duo registers together for the Finals.
The tournament schedule is designed to build momentum toward the championship matches:
- Thursday, 3 December (Round of 16): A total of 16 matches will be played across two courts.
- Friday, 4 December (Quarter-finals): The field narrows with 8 matches held across two courts.
- Saturday, 5 December (Semi-finals): The intensity increases with 4 matches taking place on a single court.
- Sunday, 6 December (Finals): The event concludes with the final 2 matches on one court to crown the season champions.
Local Catalan talent is currently fighting to secure their spots in the draw. In the men’s category, Pol Hernández (ranked 37th in the FIP Race) is the highest-ranked Catalan player looking to solidify his position. On the women’s side, Jana Montes (32nd) is working to defend her ranking, while fellow Catalans Laia Rodríguez and Noa Cánovas are actively competing in the final events of the season to climb the leaderboard and qualify for the Tarragona event.
Supported by the Catalan Government, the Tarragona Provincial Council, and the Tarragona City Council, the event is expected to provide a significant boost to local sports tourism. Tickets for the tournament are currently available for purchase through the official Cupra FIP Finals website.
