The second annual Vitality UK Padel Convention recently concluded at The Padel Club in Gloucester Quays, cementing its status as the premier gathering for the British padel community. The event saw significant growth, drawing 1,027 industry professionals—ranging from club operators and investors to brand representatives—to discuss the future of the sport in the UK.
Key Highlights from the 2026 Convention
The event demonstrated clear momentum for the sport, with attendance jumping from 780 in 2025 to over 1,000 this year. The exhibition floor was completely sold out, featuring 58 exhibitors, with an impressive 81.1% retention rate of partners from the previous year. To provide a comprehensive look at the industry's trajectory, the main stage featured six distinct, podcast-style panel discussions:
- The UK’s competitive circuit: Experts analyzed the current state and future development of professional and amateur competition structures within the country.
- Reaching the next million players: This session focused on strategies for mass-market growth and how to expand the sport’s reach to a broader demographic of new participants.
- Club profitability: A critical look at the business side of padel, exploring how owners and operators can maintain sustainable and successful club models.
- Data and technology: A deep dive into the digital tools and metrics currently shaping facility management and player engagement.
- Leadership and culture: A discussion on fostering the right environment within clubs and organizations to ensure long-term health and community building.
- Governance and sustainability: An examination of the regulatory landscape and the environmental considerations necessary for the sport's responsible expansion.
Beyond the main stage, the convention introduced a Start Up Zone, which provided a dedicated space for emerging businesses to showcase their innovations alongside established industry leaders. Additionally, the event kicked off with an exclusive, operators-only gathering on November 3rd, hosted by The Padel Directory (TPD). This pre-convention session allowed club owners to engage in candid conversations about the specific challenges facing their facilities.
Looking ahead, George Modler, Co-Founder of The Padel Directory, confirmed that the event will return in 2027. Furthermore, TPD announced plans to launch a dedicated mobile app as part of a broader technological upgrade designed to better serve the needs of clubs, coaches, brands, and players across the UK.
