All eight athletes comprising the top four seeded pairs hail from Argentina, setting the stage for a highly competitive tournament running from September 10 to September 12.
The Top Contenders and Argentine Dominance
The men’s draw features a deep field of talent, with several players arriving in San Luis boasting recent success on the international circuit. The following pairs and players are the ones to watch as the tournament progresses:
- Luciano Puppo and Juampi Dametto: As the top-seeded pair, they are the favorites to beat. Puppo enters the tournament following a FIP Silver victory in Joinville earlier this season, while Dametto is coming off two FIP Bronze titles in Chile.
- Mateo Alvarez: Partnering with Dametto for this event, Alvarez is aiming to secure the first CUPRA FIP Tour title of his professional career.
- Kevin Kviatkovski and Mirko Kloster: Seeded third, this duo carries significant momentum. Kviatkovski is fresh off a victory at the FIP Bronze Phoenix in Arizona last week and previously secured a win at the FIP Bronze Jakarta in July, in addition to a runner-up finish at the FIP Bronze Banten.
- Francisco Maier and Thiago Pinto: This pair is also among the primary contenders. Maier has already tasted success this year, having won the FIP Bronze Castro alongside Santino Contreras.
While the Argentine contingent holds the top seeds, the local Mexican players are eager to make their mark on home soil. The tournament field includes 21 Mexican athletes, featuring seven pairs composed entirely of local talent. The main draw action is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, September 10, with the intensity building toward the conclusion of the event on Saturday, September 12, when the semi-finals and the final will determine the champion.
