The FIP Promises tour has achieved a major milestone in its Asian expansion, with the Bali tournament setting a new participation record of 138 competing pairs. This surge in interest highlights the rapid development of youth padel across the continent, eclipsing previous benchmarks set just weeks ago.
A Record-Breaking Tournament in Bali
Taking place at the Island Sports Holywings Padel Club, the event is scheduled to run through Sunday, August 16. The tournament has officially become the largest FIP youth competition ever held in Asia, comfortably surpassing the 113 pairs that competed at the FIP Promises Jakarta event last month. The growth is not just in total numbers, but in the breadth of the competition, as the event features a completely sold-out field across every available age bracket.
The tournament structure includes all eight standard FIP youth categories, ensuring a comprehensive showcase of talent. The specific breakdown of the competition includes:
- Under 12 Boys and Girls: These categories are fully represented, contributing to the record-breaking total of 138 pairs.
- Under 14 Boys: A highly competitive division featuring 29 pairs.
- Under 14 Girls: Part of the full eight-category lineup that ensures every age group is active.
- Under 16 Boys: The most heavily populated category in the tournament, boasting 33 participating pairs.
- Under 16 Girls: A key component of the event’s expanded draw compared to previous tournaments.
- Under 18 Boys: One of the premier age groups showcasing the next generation of talent.
- Under 18 Girls: A vital category rounding out the full circuit of eight draws.
