The inaugural FIP Bronze Pakistan I tournament in Karachi concluded with a historic display of padel, marking the first time the CUPRA FIP Tour has visited the country. The event saw dominant performances from the top seeds, with the men’s and women’s champions continuing their impressive runs of form on the international circuit.
Tournament Results and Key Performances
In the men’s draw, the duo of Adrian Ronco and Julian Lacamoire solidified their status as a force to be reckoned with by securing their second consecutive title in as many weeks. Following their recent victory at the FIP Bronze Damac in Dubai, the pair navigated a challenging path to the trophy in Karachi. Their tournament journey included the following key matches:
- Semi-final victory: Ronco and Lacamoire defeated the team of Wagdy Raslan and Aly Zaghloul in straight sets, finishing 6-3, 6-4.
- Final match triumph: In a hard-fought championship decider, they overcame Pablo Pastor and Agustin Reca with a final score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
For Lacamoire, this win adds to a stellar 2026 campaign that includes a notable FIP Gold title in Shanghai this past June. Reflecting on the win, Lacamoire expressed satisfaction with the team’s consistency, noting their focus remains on maintaining this momentum for upcoming competitions.
The women’s draw featured an equally impressive performance from Ainize Santamaria and Gimena Sol Perez. The pair dominated the competition from start to finish, surrendering only six games across their entire tournament run. Their path to the title was defined by two clinical victories:
- Semi-final dominance: Santamaria and Sol Perez dispatched Gabriela Andrade and Asfa Shahbaz with a decisive 6-1, 6-2 scoreline.
- Final victory: The champions maintained their form in the final, securing the title by defeating Nika Sluzhiteleva and Anastasiia Ryzhova 6-1, 6-2.
This victory adds to a prolific season for both players. Santamaria has now claimed four titles on the CUPRA FIP Tour this year, including previous wins in Joinville, Dakar, and Budapest. Sol Perez, meanwhile, continues her winning streak after also claiming the title at the FIP Bronze Dubai event last week.
This event serves as a milestone for the sport, as Pakistan becomes one of 17 new nations to join the CUPRA FIP Tour circuit in 2026, further expanding the global footprint of professional padel.
