The FIP Gold tournament in Bucharest has reached its climax, with both the men’s and women’s draws set for highly anticipated final matches. After a week of intense competition, the stage is set for a showdown between some of the most consistent pairs on the CUPRA FIP Tour.
Men’s and Women’s Finalists Set in Bucharest
In the men's bracket, David Gala and Enzo Jensen have secured their spot in the final after a dominant run through the tournament. Having reached two previous finals together—the FIP Platinum Albania and the FIP Silver Alcalá de Guadaíra—the duo is hungry for their first shared title. Their path to the final has been flawless, as they defeated Italians Simone Iacovino and Giulio Graziotti in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) to maintain a perfect record of not dropping a single set throughout the event.
They will face the number 5 seeds, Manuel Aragon and Albert Roglan, who earned their place in the final following a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Alvaro Cepero and Pepe Aliaga. Aragon and Roglan have shown immense resilience this week, having survived a grueling schedule that included two marathon matches in a single day, notably overcoming the number 2 seeds, Pablo Lijó and Xisco Gil.
The women’s final will feature the top two seeds in a battle for the trophy. The finalists are:
- Lucia Martinez and Leti Manquillo: The top seeds advanced after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Carlotta Casali and Clarissa Aima. Martinez is currently chasing back-to-back titles following her recent win in San Luis, while Manquillo—the most decorated player on the CUPRA FIP Tour with 16 titles—seeks her second Gold trophy.
- Laura Lujan and Araceli Martinez: This pair reached the final by defeating Sandra Bellver and Ana Dominguez with a score of 6-2, 6-4. They enter the final with momentum, having already secured a FIP Gold victory earlier this year in Abidjan.
The men’s final is scheduled to begin no earlier than 12:30 pm local time (11:30 am CEST), with the women’s final following shortly after. Both matches promise to be high-stakes encounters as these elite athletes compete for the prestigious FIP Gold title.
