The CUPRA FIP Tour returns to Tunisia for the FIP Bronze The Mora Tunisia II, featuring a highly competitive field of established circuit winners. Following a successful tournament in the region just one week ago, top-ranked players are gathering to vie for the title in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Tournament Favorites and Key Pairings
The women’s draw is headlined by the formidable duo of Marina Lobo and Carla Fernandez, both of whom enter the tournament with significant momentum. Lobo has already secured victories at FIP Bronze events in Pembroke and Cordenons this year, while Fernandez is enjoying a standout season with six titles to her name. They face stiff competition from several other high-caliber teams:
- Barbara Las Heras and Daria Kucheriavaia: Serving as the No. 2 seeds, this pair represents the primary threat to the top-ranked Lobo and Fernandez.
- Dora Chamli and Maria Laura Ferreyra: Entering as the No. 3 seeds, they are expected to be major contenders throughout the bracket.
- Lucia Perez and Elizaveta Kozlova: Positioned as the No. 4 seeds, this team rounds out the top tier of the women's competition.
In the men’s draw, Nacho Vilariño and Coquito Zamora enter as the No. 1 seeds. The pair previously demonstrated their chemistry by winning the FIP Silver in Guimaraes this past September. Zamora has had a prolific 2026, adding FIP Silver titles in Espoo and Porto to his resume, while Vilariño has accumulated four CUPRA FIP Tour titles throughout the current season. To secure another trophy, they must navigate a challenging field that includes:
- Gustavo Nunes and Tonet Sans: A strong pairing featuring the Portuguese talent Nunes alongside the Spaniard Sans.
- Alvaro Melendez and Ali Dawani: A team looking to make a significant impact in the Tunisian draw.
- Javi Valdes and Miguel Benitez Lara: A dangerous duo that adds further depth to the men’s competition.
With such a strong concentration of CUPRA FIP Tour winners in attendance, the FIP Bronze The Mora Tunisia II promises to be a high-stakes event as players look to add to their 2026 trophy collections.
