Premier Padel has announced a strategic shift in its commercial and operational landscape by securing two major partnerships that will establish a regulated betting ecosystem for the sport starting in 2027. These agreements aim to monetize the professional tour while simultaneously implementing rigorous safeguards to protect the integrity of the game.
Key Components of the New Betting and Integrity Framework
The transition toward an official betting market involves a dual-pronged approach, focusing on both technological infrastructure and protective oversight. Here are the specific elements of the new partnership agreements:
- iGame Media Partnership: Beginning in the 2027 season, iGame Media will serve as the official live streaming and data partner for the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour. This collaboration will provide regulated sportsbooks with access to official in-venue umpire data and low-latency live streaming, enabling point-by-point live trading across more than 2,400 professional matches.
- Sportradar Integrity Agreement: Premier Padel and the International Padel Federation (FIP) have appointed Sportradar as their official betting integrity partner. This move is designed to mitigate risks related to match-fixing and insider abuse through a comprehensive monitoring and education strategy.
- Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS): As part of the Sportradar deal, the tour will utilize the UFDS, which leverages artificial intelligence and expert analysis to monitor global betting patterns. The system is designed to detect suspicious activity that could signal match manipulation, providing immediate alerts to sporting authorities.
- Integrity Education and Risk Mitigation: Beyond technical monitoring, Sportradar will assist FIP and Premier Padel in launching training programs. These initiatives are focused on educating players, coaches, and officials on risk prevention to ensure integrity standards are embedded into the sport's culture from the outset.
- Reinvestment Strategy: Premier Padel has committed to using the revenue generated from these commercial partnerships to reinvest in the sport’s ecosystem. This includes funding for professional players, event production, and overall fan experience improvements to support the long-term growth of padel.
- Enhanced Reporting Mechanisms: To complement these new partnerships, FIP is developing a dedicated reporting channel on its digital platforms. This will allow members of the padel community to flag potential integrity concerns directly, strengthening the existing policies already in place under the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions.
These new measures build upon FIP’s existing integrity portfolio, which already includes collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Testing Agency (ITA) for anti-doping programs. By formalizing the data ecosystem, FIP and Premier Padel aim to ensure that as the sport expands, it does so with transparency and high standards of oversight.
