Warping Point has launched its new Nightblade paddle series, offering two distinct models—the 001 and 002—tailored to specific playstyles for a competitive price of $150. While both paddles share a common physical platform, they utilize different internal technologies to cater to either aggressive attackers or control-oriented players.
The Nightblade Philosophy: Two Paths to Performance
The Nightblade lineup is built on a shared foundation, featuring an elongated 16.5-inch shape, a 16mm thickness, a 5.5-inch handle, and a carbon-fiberglass-carbon composite hitting surface. Despite these similarities, Warping Point has engineered unique internal "recipes" to define the personality of each paddle:
- Nightblade 001 (The Aggressive Option): Designed for players who want to dictate points through speed and relentless pressure. It features an MPP core and TPE edge, which are specifically engineered to provide faster energy return and explosive power for quick-strike offense and aggressive counters.
- Nightblade 002 (The Controlled Option): Built for players who prioritize consistency and composure during long rallies. It utilizes an EPP core and EVA edge, which work together to increase ball dwell time and provide a more stable, forgiving feel, making it easier to execute blocks and resets against heavy pace.
Beyond the technical specifications, Warping Point has introduced the "Nightblade Chronicles," a science-fiction narrative that frames the paddles as distinct weapons within a larger fictional universe. This creative marketing approach aims to distinguish the brand from traditional industry campaigns.
At a price point of $149.99, both paddles include full-foam construction and premium materials that typically command much higher prices in the current market. Warping Point supports these paddles with a one-year limited warranty and a 30-day trial period for direct purchases. However, players should be aware of current regulatory status before buying: the 001 is UPA-A approved but lacks USA Pickleball approval, while the 002 is currently not approved by either organization. Players intending to use these in sanctioned tournaments should verify eligibility requirements before making a purchase.
